US destroys a new boat in the Pacific allegedly linked to drug trafficking

Washington,.- United States destroyed this Friday a new boat allegedly operated by organizations linked to drug trafficking in the Pacific, an attack in which two people were killed and a third survived. The United States Southern Command was in charge of executing the new mission of the Southern Spear plan and announced the result of the operation on its X account along with a video.

He also detailed that he had to activate the search and rescue system to locate the survivor. This is at least the second attack in international waters since January 3, when the United States captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in Caracas, and in total there have been more than 35 such attacks against vessels since August 2025. The Southern Command has killed more than 110 people during these attacks, which have drawn criticism in the North American country and the international community for the use of military force under the Administration of President Donald Trump.
