Jarabacoa Prosecutor's Office obtains preventive detention against man for incident in front of its facilities

Jarabacoa, La Vega. – The Prosecutor's Office of the municipality of Jarabacoa obtained preventive detention as a coercive measure against a man accused of protagonizing a serious incident in front of the offices of the Public Ministry of the Dominican Republic. The event occurred last Monday, February 23rd, when the victim was going to the Jarabacoa Prosecutor's Office to file a complaint related to previous situations. According to the preliminary report, the accused appeared at the scene and engaged in an altercation in which he allegedly used a bladed weapon, creating a high-risk situation. According to the information provided, the woman was accompanied by a girl approximately two years old at the time of the incident, which heightened the alarm among the people present in the judicial environment. Following the events, the man was arrested by the authorities and placed at the disposal of justice. The competent court imposed pre-trial detention while the investigations into the case proceed.
