The organization decided to keep the powerful hitter out of the lineup as a precautionary measure during Spring Training, prioritizing his recovery and his availability for the start of the Major League Baseball season. Devers continues to be one of the main offensive figures of the Californian team. Last season he hit 35 home runs and drove in 109 runs, after playing 73 games with the "Boston Red Sox" and 90 games with San Francisco. Throughout his career in the Major Leagues, he has accumulated 235 home runs and 747 RBIs. In addition, he was selected three times for the All-Star Game and was part of the 2018 World Series champion team with Boston. During his time with the Red Sox, the Dominican led the team for five consecutive seasons in RBIs and finished among the top 20 in the American League MVP voting on five occasions.

Focused on arriving healthy for the season

Regarding the World Baseball Classic, the third baseman decided not to join the Dominican Republic team for this edition, with the aim of prioritizing his physical preparation with the Giants and avoiding any risk of injury. Devers has reiterated that his priority is to be in full shape at the start of the regular season and to comply with the conditioning program established by the club's medical staff.

A new chapter in san francisco

Since his departure from Boston in 2025, the stellar batter has chosen to keep a low profile when referring to the reasons for his departure. In his public statements, he has avoided entering into controversies or directly responding to versions about possible differences with the directive, limiting himself to thanking the organization and the fans for the years he lived with the team. His focus, as he has reiterated on different occasions, is centered on performing at his best with the Giants and continuing to build a new stage in his career within the Major Leagues.
