Santo Domingo.– The family of Juan Alberto Vilorio, a 21-year-old who has been progressively losing his sight for about a month, is requesting financial assistance to cover the medical studies that would determine the cause of his condition.
Julia de León, the young man's wife, explained that Vilorio is admitted to the CEDIMAT clinic, where specialists are keeping him under medical evaluation. However, so far the doctors have not been able to identify what is causing the loss of his vision. You may be interested in: Young woman seeks help for surgery that left her with neurological sequelae
As indicated, to continue with the diagnostic process it is necessary to carry out a series of specialized studies whose cost amounts to about 310 thousand pesos, a sum that the family claims they cannot cover.“The insurance he has is the basic Monumental and barely covers a minimal part of the expenses. We do not have the economic capacity to pay for those studies”, expressed De León when making a public call for help.
The young woman also explained that the family situation is complicated, as Vilorio's mother is in a wheelchair after suffering an accident in which she fractured both feet, which also limits the possibilities of economic support within the home. Vilorio remains admitted to room 504 of the medical center, where he receives specialist care. According to his wife, it was thanks to the management of a doctor that the young man could be admitted to that clinic, where the specialist who could treat his case works. Faced with this situation, the family requests the solidarity of the authorities, institutions, and individuals who can provide support to cover the costs of studies and continue with the treatment to determine the origin of the young person's vision loss. Her family hopes that with the necessary help, medical procedures can be performed on time and thus offer her a chance to regain her health.
