Santo Domingo.- During Wednesday's session, convened after the opening of the second legislature 2025-2026, the
Chamber of Deputies referred to a
Special Commission the bill that modifies Law No. 80-24, of December 5, 2024, which approves the General State Budget for the budgetary year 2025. The initiative was presented by the Executive Branch.
The total General State Budget for the budgetary exercise of the year 2025 is one trillion six hundred eighty-one thousand seven hundred twenty-eight million eleven thousand five hundred ninety-one Dominican pesos (RD$1,681,728,011,591).

This amount represents the consolidated total of income and financial sources, as well as the total consolidated disbursements for the
Central Government, Autonomous and Decentralized Agencies not Financial, and Public Social Security Institutions.
Other projects
In today's session, the bill for the Civil Code of the Dominican Republic was sent to the Justice Commission. Proponent.
The bill extending the subjective scope of application of Law No. 28-23, of March 17, 2023, on Public Trust, proposed by Alfredo Pacheco, is sent to the Finance Commission.
Likewise, the bill on the promotion and deployment of digital citizenship, digital identity and smart municipalities (Smart Cities) in the Dominican Republic, proposed by Tobías Crespo, was sent to the Municipal Affairs Commission.
Another proposal by Crespo sent to the Environment Commission was the bill that declares the Rafael M. Moscoso National Botanical Garden, the architect Manuel Valverde Podesta National Zoological Park, the Mirador Sur Park of the National District, and the Mirador Norte Park of the Santo Domingo province as national protected areas.
In addition, they sent to the
Agriculture Commission, the bill that creates the sugar cane museum of the province of San Pedro de Macorís, proposed by the deputy of
San Pedro de Macorís, Miguel Arredondo.
At the close of the session, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco, informed that the next session will be held on Wednesday, August 27th of the current year. Pacheco emphasized the importance of following up on the ongoing projects and maintaining an orderly debate that allows progress on the legislative agenda.
