DICRIM agents shoot down alleged assailant in night operation in Baní

Baní, Peravia.Agents of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM) shot and killed a man on Monday night who was identified as one of the main perpetrators of multiple assaults recorded in the province of Peravia. The event occurred in the Villa Mejega sector of the municipality of Baní, where Bernardo Modesto Cabrera Guerrero, 40 years of age, was executed. According to the preliminary report, Cabrera Guerrero was actively sought for his involvement in various criminal acts committed in the area.

The operation was captured by surveillance cameras installed in the vicinity of the place, generating great commotion among the residents of the sector. In the videos, the moment when the agents make contact with the man, who allegedly tried to escape, is observed. The National Police indicated that Cabrera Guerrero had confronted the agents with a firearm, so the attack was responded to. The authorities claim that he was part of a gang dedicated to armed robbery. The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding procedures, while investigations into the case and the deceased's possible links to other criminal acts are expanded.
