Gustavo Sánchez accuses Fuerza del Pueblo of "harassing" PLD leaders and holds Radhamés Jiménez responsible

Santo Domingo, D.N. – The spokesperson for the Block of Deputies of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Gustavo Sánchez, denounced that leaders, members, and sympathizers of his organization are being "harassed" in order to demotivate them and attract them to the Fuerza del Pueblo, offering them party positions and candidacies for 2028. Sánchez blamed those actions on the vice president of the Fuerza del Pueblo, Radhamés Jiménez, whom he described as the "commander-in-chief of the Praetorian Guard of Leonelism."

The member of the PLD Political Committee stated that, with that attitude, the leadership of the Fuerza del Pueblo "disregards the exchange of mutual respect, under the understanding that the common adversary is the party that holds the leadership of the State." "We have respected the fulfillment of that political work procedure from the opposition, however; the siege campaign has resurfaced, after all the latest polls reflect a repositioning of the Dominican Liberation Party, and some leaders of the People's Force, with Radhamés Jiménez at the head, want to validate their political actions by identifying the PLD as an electoral objective," he declared. He also warned that this type of practice by Radhamés Jiménez and other leaders "causes discontent among the PLD's rank and file, and blows up bridges that could serve as communication and potential working tables in the future." Finally, Sánchez reminded Leonel Fernández's so-called "Praetorian Guard" that "their attitudes reveal the pettiness of jealousy over the generational change, believing themselves to be the political heirs of a candidacy, identifying a political confrontation in the reign of Leonel Fernández."
