Three months of pre-trial detention imposed on man accused of killing his mother and brother

Santo Domingo.- The Permanent Attention Office of Santo Domingo Este ordered this Tuesday three months of preventive prison for a man accused of murdering his mother and a brother.

A Daniel Moisés Cordero Rodríguez, 30 years old, is charged with the death of his mother Anatalia Rodríguez (Morena), 60 years old, and his brother Pedro Cordero Rodríguez, 29 years old.

The Public Ministry said in a note that it presented evidence that was assessed by Judge Karen Minyety Casado, to impose the coercive measure. Cordero Rodríguez is charged with violating articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code, which punishes homicide. The event occurred last Sunday, November 16, amid a violent family conflict, the information added. The victims' bodies were found around 8:50 in the morning of that day, in a house located on La Gloria street, in the San Felipe community, in Villa Mella, in Santo Domingo Norte. The defendant Cordero Rodríguez must serve the measure in the Najayo-Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), in the province of San Cristóbal.
