Santo Domingo.– The Metropolitan Bus Services Operator (OMSA) confirmed that this Tuesday, around 6:30 in the morning, one of its units caught fire on Albert Thomas Avenue corner Manuela Díez, in the María Auxiliadora sector, Distrito Nacional.
The bus was transporting employees from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Minutes later, units from the National District Fire Department and agents of the National Police went to the scene and put out the fire in a short time. Through an official statement, the OMSA regretted the incident and announced that it is awaiting the technical report from the Fire Department. He also reported that an internal investigation has already begun to determine the causes of the mechanical failure and to reinforce the fleet's maintenance protocols.
