Los Angeles (USA).- Jennifer Lopez and director Robert Zemeckis ('Forrest Gump') will collaborate on an adaptation of 'The Last Mrs. Parrish' for Netflix, reported Deadline.
According to sources consulted by the specialized media, Zemeckis will direct this version of Liv Constantine's novel, while the singer will star in the film.
The film, currently in development, follows the story of a con artist, played by Jennifer Lopez, who plans to infiltrate the affluent marriage of the Parrishes with the aim of seducing the husband and taking the wife's place as the new Mrs. Parrish, unaware that the current wife's life is much darker and more complex than she ever imagined.
The screenplay will be written by Andrea Berloff and John Gatins, the latter nominated for an Oscar for 'Flight', also directed by Zemeckis.
Lopez and Netflix have maintained a strong collaboration in recent years with films like 'The Mother' (2023) or 'Atlas' (2024).

In addition, the 'Get Right' singer recently premiered this year at the Sundance Festival the musical directed by Bill Condon 'Kiss of the Spider Woman', which is scheduled to be released in theaters in the fall.
While Zemeckis, director of films like 'Back to the Future' or 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit', released in 2024 'Here', a film that reunited the cast of the six-time Oscar winner, 'Forrest Gump'.
