The best vitilla players from the Dominican Republic and New York will participate, including an international selection that will represent the Dominican diaspora residing in that American city. The competition will bring together 12 teams made up of elite players who will seek to be crowned champions of the tournament. The top three places will receive cash prizes, trophies and medals, recognizing the talent and discipline of the athletes who keep this sporting tradition alive. The event organization is in charge of the Dominican Vitilla League USA (LIVIDOUSA), in collaboration with the allied leagues LIDOVI, LIVICI and LIVICOA, along with team managers from the capital and different provinces of the country. The main objective of the initiative is to rescue, dignify and project vitilla as a symbol of Dominican sport and culture. Kevin Reyes, founder and CEO of LIVIDOUSA, highlighted that the "International Vitilla Cup" transcends sports, seeking to strengthen Dominican cultural identity and create opportunities for young people from vulnerable communities.“This tournament is a dream come true. Vitilla, born in the Dominican streets, today unites two cultures, two territories, a single identity,” expressed Reyes, highlighting the value of the discipline as a bridge between the Dominican Republic and its diaspora.
