Severino, Álvarez and Hernández thunder; Licey ties with Águilas

GUERRA, Santo Domingo Este. Yunior Severino, Armando Álvarez and Cristian Hernández had a superb offensive performance for the Tigres del Licey who tied 7-7 with the Águilas Cibaeñas, in the first preseason game, held at the facilities of the International Prospect League, in Guerra.

Severino Pegó three unstoppable hits, including a triple and drove in two, Álvarez hit a double and a single with an RBI while Hernández had three undisputed hits with two runs batted in to lead the blue attack.

THE RACES

The Eagles took command of the game in the first inning with two runs. Licey tied the score in the bottom of the second act. The visitors added three more in the fourth, while the blues tied with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and two more in the seventh, while the yellows added two in the top of the eighth inning. Right-handed pitcher Albert Abreu was the starting pitcher of the game, who pitched for three innings and a third, allowing two runs. He was followed by relievers Anderson Severino, Lisalverto Bonilla, Félix Cepeda, and Elison Joseph. For the visitors, left-handed pitcher Wilker Reyes, right-handed pitchers Jeurys Familia, Jean Henríquez, Rhiner Cruz, Félix Ramírez, Bryan Rodríguez, Iván Oviedo, and Delvis Alegre pitched. On the offensive for the Tigres, Yunior Severino hit three hits and drove in two runs, Cristian Hernández hit three singles with a run scored, one driven in and one stolen base, Armando Álvarez doubled and two singles with two RBIs, while Mel Rojas Jr. produced one with a single. For the Aguilas, Juan Lagares stood out with a double and a run scored, Alberto Rodríguez with a single and an RBI. The Tigres will be visitors against the Gigantes del Cibao this Tuesday when they travel to the Julián Javier Stadium, in San Francisco de Macorís, in a game scheduled for 12:00 in the afternoon.
