Matos, 24 years old and born in Santo Domingo, was injured in the head on July 25 during a team practice, which forced his transfer by helicopter to a hospital. The next day he regained mobility in his limbs and, after being discharged on July 30, returned to the franchise's facilities. The lineman was kept under concussion protocol, a situation that prevented him from participating in the three preparation games against the Seattle Seahawks. Product of the International Player Pathway 2024 program, an NFL initiative to find talent outside the United States, Matos signed with the Dolphins on April 28, 2024 as an undrafted free agent, after not being selected in the Draft. Now, the Dominican player will seek to continue his development with the practice squad of Miami for the second consecutive year, while working on his recovery and the goal of consolidating himself in the league.
