National: July 3rd Anniversaries
- 1809: Lieutenant Colonel Meris and Captain Duer, for the besieged; Manuel Joaquín Delmonte, for the Dominicans; and Colonels Vassimot and Fabré, for the French, meet to finalize the capitulation of the Santo Domingo square, which marks the end of the Reconquest war, led by General Juan Sánchez Ramírez.
- 1844: Colonel Esteban Roca cannot assume as head of the Southern Army due to the opposition of the officers, instigated by General Pedro Santana.
- 1853: President Pedro Santana signs a decree that deports former President Buenaventura Báez for life and grants amnesty to several political prisoners.
- 1861: Francisco del Rosario Sánchez and a group of patriots are ambushed in El Cercado by forces commanded by Santiago D’Oleo, and later transferred to San Juan, where a war council condemns them to death.
- 1916: The action of La Barranquita takes place, in which a group of patriots led by Máximo Cabral confronts the US troops advancing from Montecristi towards Santiago.

- 1982: After 9:00 p.m., President Antonio Guzmán Fernández takes his own life with a shot in a room next to his office in the National Palace.
- 1982: An investigating commission concludes that the explosion of an M26A1 grenade in the Central Electoral Board occurred when it accidentally fell on a member of Senator Vicente Sánchez Baret's escort.
