San Juan.- Bad Bunny and the record label Rimas Entertainment LLC have been sued for 16 million dollars for the alleged illegal use of a woman's voice recording in the song 'EoO', from the album 'DeBí TiRAR MÁS FOToS', local media reported this Thursday.
According to the Noticel portal, on January 5th, Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera filed the judicial claim, in which she requests the monetary amount for violation of the Law of Moral Rights of the Author of Puerto Rico, damages, unjust enrichment, the Law of the Right to One's Own Image and the right to privacy.
According to the lawsuit, producer Roberto J. Rosado, known as La Paciencia, asked Serrano Rivera to record himself saying 'Mira puñeta, no me quiten el perreo,' which he did via a voice message on the WhatsApp application.
The lawsuit requests that Bad Bunny not use the woman's voice
In 2018, the recording was used in the song 'Solo de mí', on the album 'X100pre', and in 2025 again in 'EoO', without the authorization of Serrano Rivera.
"The voice of Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera was used without her consent in both songs without compensation, without attributing her legal recognition or rights to the songs, promotions, records, concerts worldwide and social and musical platforms, television and radio, among other things, thus violating her rights, and the moral rights of the author in its modality of moral right of attribution," details the lawsuit.
The document adds that "at the time of the request, the purpose of the audio was not explained. Nor was the plaintiff informed that her identity would be used and
commercially exploited".
The lawsuit includes the use of his voice in the concerts of last year's residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, in promotional material and in the singer's merchandise. The cessation of the use of the recording is also requested.
To illustrate the extent of the damages, the plaintiff indicates that, at the time of preparing the lawsuit, the song 'Solo de mí' contained 389 million views on YouTube and more than 540 million plays on Spotify, and 'EoO' 757 million plays on the Spotify music platform.
