The Headquarters Agreement for this important event was signed in Chile by Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and the Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Luis Fidel Yáñez. Ministers of Foreign Affairs, other authorities and government representatives from member countries, as well as experts, will participate in this meeting to discuss the main economic, social and environmental challenges of the region.
During the signing ceremony, Chancellor Álvarez highlighted that the choice of the Dominican Republic as the venue for this session reflects ECLAC's confidence in the country and reaffirms the Dominican government's commitment to multilateralism, regional cooperation, and the promotion of policies aimed at the development of Latin America and the Caribbean.You can also read: Abinader receives public policy document from ECLAC
He also emphasized that holding this meeting in Santiago de los Caballeros is of special significance, as it is one of the country's main cities and an important engine of economic, cultural, and academic activity in the Cibao region.Minister Roberto Álvarez was accompanied by the Dominican ambassador to Chile, Juan Cohén."Holding this session in the north of the country reflects our Government's vision of continuing to promote greater decentralization of development and public investment, driving growth opportunities throughout the national territory," he highlighted.
