Santo Domingo. - The president, Luis Abinader, issued Decree No. 2-26, through which he ordered a series of new appointments and repeals in different areas of public administration, as part of adjustments in the structure of the Dominican Government, and in which he appointed Mayra Jiménez as director of the Social Development Directorate Supérate.
The document is based on the Constitution of the Dominican Republic, proclaimed on October 27, 2024, as well as Law No. 247-12, Organic of Public Administration, and several decrees issued between 2020 and 2025.
New official designations
Among the provisions contained in the decree, the appointment of Francisco Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme as Minister of Agriculture is established. Likewise, Gloria Roely Reyes Gómez was appointed Minister of Women. The decree includes the appointment of Pedro Porfirio Urrutia Sangiovanni as general director of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes. The document was issued in Santo Domingo de Guzmán on January 6, 2026, and sent to the corresponding bodies for their knowledge and execution.
