Migration immunizes 75 employees at the Haina Interdiction Center

The initiative, coordinated with the Ministry of Public Health, seeks to protect the health of the staff working in the facilities and strengthen preventive measures within the migratory center. Haina.– The General Directorate of Migration (DGM), in coordination with personnel from the Ministry of Public Health, carried out this Tuesday a hepatitis B vaccination day at the Haina Migration Interdiction Center, aimed at collaborators of the institution who work in those facilities. The initiative is part of the preventive actions that the entity develops to strengthen the protection of the health of its personnel and maintain adequate conditions of health in the migration control and management spaces.

During the day, 75 collaborators were immunized, including administrative staff, medical personnel, and immigration interdiction agents who work in areas of direct contact with immigrants in the process of interdiction and custody, therefore they need to maintain special measures of prevention and health protection. The action seeks to reduce the risk of hepatitis B infection, a viral disease that affects the liver and can be transmitted through contact with infected bodily fluids. The process was coordinated by the head of the Medical Department of the DGM, Lieutenant Colonel Doctor Geneeve Chahede.
