Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Finance and Economy, Magín Díaz, held a meeting today with the National Board of Directors of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), where he confirmed the willingness of his administration to work jointly with the productive sectors, in order to strengthen the economy and generate greater investment and development opportunities for the country.
In the meeting, AIRD representatives addressed the main challenges affecting the industry's competitiveness, highlighting the need to create favorable conditions that consolidate the sector and promote greater foreign investment opportunities.
Díaz heard firsthand the concerns of industrialists and stressed that these dialogue spaces not only seek to boost the economy and promote its growth, but also to consolidate a solid synergy between the Government and the business sector, with the aim of promoting sustained development that benefits the entire nation.
"The country needs us to work together to strengthen our industry, attract investment, and generate quality jobs. This is the way to ensure economic growth that translates into well-being for all Dominicans," the minister stated.
The president of the AIRD, Julio Virgilio Brache, valued the openness and receptiveness of the minister and expressed himself as follows: "It is necessary that we keep the channels of communication and the search for consensus and solutions open. It is extremely important that, in the face of the various problems that affect us - internal and external - we always exhaust a process of direct and frank dialogue."
He highlighted that the willingness to dialogue shown by Minister Díaz strengthens trust and creates a favorable climate to continue advancing the country's competitiveness and the generation of quality jobs.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the AIRD Business Tower on Sarasota Avenue and is part of an ongoing agenda of dialogues promoted by Minister Magín Díaz with various productive sectors, reaffirming his management's commitment to openness, consensus, and the construction of joint policies that strengthen the national productive fabric and generate a favorable climate for investment and sustainable development.
Encounters with other sectors
In recent weeks, the official has met with prominent leaders of the national business community and has held meetings with the Board of Directors of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), the National Organization of Commercial Enterprises (ONEC), the Dominican Federation of Merchants, and representatives of the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector.
