Santiago. - The Santiago City Hall began paying the 13th salary to all municipal employees, active and inactive, yesterday, Friday, with a disbursement that amounts to RD$55,905,703.25, complying with what is established in Dominican labor legislation.
The municipal administration specified that of the total amount, RD$52,984,819.84 corresponds to active employees, while RD$2,920,883.41 will be distributed among inactive and retired employees.
The measure, ordered by Mayor Ulises Rodríguez, includes the staff of the council headquarters and the workers of the areas of Cleaning and Urban Sanitation, Plazas and Parks, Municipal Public Works, Cemeteries, Markets, Ornamentation and Transportation.

Rodríguez highlighted that the timely fulfillment of this commitment is a result of the financial sanitation process implemented since the beginning of his administration, with the purpose of strengthening administrative efficiency and guaranteeing the labor rights of municipal employees. Likewise, the municipal executive thanked the effort made during the year by the workers and wished them a Christmas of well-being, union, and tranquility with their families.
