This day, established by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), emphasizes the importance of tourism as an economic, social, and cultural engine, and underscores the need to strengthen its resilience against crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, economic crises, and international conflicts.
In the Dominican Republic, tourism is one of the main sources of income, employment, and regional development, with thousands of families directly dependent on this activity. The sector has demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt and overcome difficulties, maintaining the quality of its services and promoting a unique tourist experience.
