Boston. In an unforgettable day at Fenway Park, Dominican third baseman Rafael Devers shone with his own light by setting a new personal record of eight RBIs, leading the overwhelming victory of the Boston Red Sox 19-5 over the Baltimore Orioles in the first game of a doubleheader.

Devers was the absolute protagonist in the team's imposing offensive rally, connecting a three-run homer in the sixth inning and subsequently a grand slam in the eighth, the latter against Puerto Rican position player Emmanuel Rivera, who went to the mound for the Orioles to contain the offense. Devers' hit capped a 13-run inning for the home team. The slugger finished the game 6-4, with two home runs and eight RBIs.

The triumph also served as an emotional response to the injury exit of Alex Bregman, who left the game in the fifth inning due to discomfort in his right quadriceps. Bregman, a key player in the Boston offense this year, avoided what appeared to be a more serious injury and his recovery is expected to be favorable.

Baltimore's opener, Gregory Soto, was the victim of Devers' first home run, an imposing 408-foot hit that was shot at 108.1 mph, according to Statcast. Boston thus took the definitive lead in a game that until then looked close.

This performance comes at a key moment for the Red Sox, who have suffered multiple losses, including that of first baseman Triston Casas for the rest of the season. The team demonstrated depth and character, fueling the hope of their fans heading into the middle stretch of the campaign.
