United States.- Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas was arrested in Encino, California, for his alleged involvement in organizing high-stakes clandestine poker games from his own mansion, according to the United States Attorney's Office.

Along with Arenas, Yevgeni Gershman, Evgenni Tourevski, Allan Austria, and Yarin Cohen were also arrested, identified as part of a network that operated illegal games with exclusive services, private security, and high stakes. Gershman had been identified as a member of Israeli organized crime. Arenas, 43, faces charges of conspiracy, operating an illegal gambling business, and making false statements to investigators. The investigation indicates that the former player rented out his mansion for these gatherings and delegated the logistics to a third party.

His career was also marked by controversies, including a suspension for carrying weapons in the locker room in 2010. The investigation is ongoing and the authorities do not rule out more people involved.
