Santo Domingo. – A group of lawyers requested this Friday that the authorities intervene to restore access to a private property which, according to them, has been cut off due to restrictions imposed around the Callacoa golf course and the lands of Inmobiliaria Arroyo, located at Kilometer 20 of the Duarte highway. According to legal representatives, their client cannot freely enter or exit the land due to obstacles placed on the road that originally led to the property.

This situation, they claim, directly limits the right of their client to use and legitimately develop their property. "We are calling on the relevant authorities and the parties involved to respect the right of access to property, as established by law. Our client is being affected by a measure that leaves them practically isolated and unable to exercise their constitutional right to property," they stated. The lawyers explained that traditional access was closed or obstructed by third parties, without a legal process or any compensation, which they consider a violation of both the Dominican Constitution and the Private Property Law. They also warned that if the situation is not resolved, they would be willing to resort to the necessary legal channels to safeguard their client's rights, including the filing of legal actions for damages. So far, there has been no official response from the authorities or the neighboring owners indicated. The lawyers reiterate their willingness to dialogue, but insist that free transit and access to the disputed property must be guaranteed.
