DNCD conducts operation against micro-trafficking and seizes more than 141,000 grams of different narcotics

In the interventions, 66 raids were carried out and 974 people were arrested Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, seized more than 141,000 grams of different narcotics, weapons, money and other evidence, in joint operations, carried out during the first days of the month of August. In about 66 raids and hundreds of operations, the operational units arrested 974 people and seized 104,010 grams of alleged cocaine, 33,099 of marijuana, 4,333 of crack, 257 grams of hashish, 155 of tusi, 7.40 of methamphetamines, as well as 70 ecstasy pills for a total of 141,863 grams. In the interventions, the security forces also seized 05 firearms, 21 knives, 43 motorcycles, 247 cell phones, 50 communication radios, 02 bulletproof vests, 106 scales, 06 slot machines, bundles of sheaths, scissors, containers, money in pesos and dollars, among other evidence, used for the packaging and preparation of narcotics.

"Agents and prosecutors, as part of joint strategies, have stepped up the offensive against micro-drug trafficking, hitting and dismantling networks in neighborhoods and provinces throughout the country." "Those arrested in this new offensive against the crime of drug trafficking were handed over to the Public Ministry to determine coercive measures in the coming hours for violation of law 50-88, on drugs and controlled substances." Authorities have reinforced operations against micro-trafficking, managing to seize, during the last few months, more than six million grams of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, crack, ecstasy, tusi, methamphetamines and other substances. Joint operations to attack, pursue, and eradicate drug trafficking and sales will continue to be carried out throughout the national territory, as a way to continue bringing more tranquility and security to all citizens.
