Community Technology Centers promote digital training for 150 young people in SDN

The initiative strengthens the digital skills of Dominican youth and contributes to closing the technological gap, driving the inclusive and sustainable development of the country.

Santo Domingo Norte.– A total of 150 young people from different neighborhoods in this municipality received certification in various technological and innovative areas, as part of the training actions provided by the Community Technological Centers (CTC), with the aim of reducing the digital divide and preparing young people to integrate into the labor market with greater opportunities.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the general director of the CTC, Isidro Torres; the mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Betty Gerónimo; and the deputy Patricia Núñez, who highlighted the students' effort and the importance of these trainings for the social and economic development of the country.

“Today you receive the corresponding certifications in different training actions that you have received in your respective centers, it is good that you continue training so that you continue crossing other levels, both in the CTC and in the ITLA, Infotep and thus become entrepreneurs”, Torres expressed.

Isidro Torres maintained that training, without a doubt, is the most suitable vehicle to combat poverty, and he thanked President Luis Abinader and the different public and private entities for their support in the efforts to strengthen the entity in favor of the economic and social development of the nation.

"You are already today, in this present, the sign of the change that the country needs, I congratulate you and encourage you to continue, and I challenge you to continue seeing the CTCs as the ally you can count on to move forward and be able to fructify," Torres pointed out.

The mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Betty Gerónimo, highlighted the work carried out by the Community Technology Centers nationwide and, especially, in that municipality, considering these initiatives fundamental for its educational and social growth. Likewise, she valued Isidro Torres' management at the head of the CTCs, whom she defined as an official committed to education and the community, with the ability to identify and enhance the best talents.

“Este programa es vital para el crecimiento educativo y social de Santo Domingo Norte, el segundo municipio más grande del país. El trabajo que se impulsa desde los CTC abre caminos para nuestros jóvenes y multiplica sus oportunidades”,

aseguró.
Among the skills developed by the 150 graduates are Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, office suite, and Hour of Code, an initiative that motivates participants to discover the world of technology and learn, in a practical way, the basic principles of programming.
With this new promotion, the CTCs consolidate their role as a platform for social and technological inclusion, reaffirming their commitment to a more prepared, competitive youth capable of leading the innovation processes in the country.
