Washington.- FBI Director Kash Patel said on Monday that the DNA of Tyler Robinson, the alleged killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been identified on two objects found at the crime scene and also pointed out that the man wrote a note detailing his plans before the murder.

"We have the DNA from the screwdriver found on the roof and from the towel that wrapped the firearm," Patel explained in an interview with Fox News.

Robinson left a screwdriver on the roof from which he allegedly shot Kirk and, after going down from the roof and heading to a wooded area adjacent to the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus, wrapped the hunting Mauser rifle used in a dark-colored towel, according to authorities. Patel also said the FBI believes Robinson wrote a note before the murder and that it basically said: "I have the opportunity to eliminate Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it'". In turn, the newspaper The Washington Post reported today that it has obtained screenshots of chats on the Discord platform in which Robinson appears to have confessed to his friends about the murder shortly before surrendering to the police.

"Hello everyone, I have bad news," says a message sent from Robinson's account, which apparently added later "It was me yesterday at UVU. I am very sorry." That exchange took place last Thursday about two hours before the authorities arrested the suspect. Robinson, 22, is not cooperating with the authorities nor has he confessed to the crime at the moment, and it is expected that the state of Utah will file charges against him in the coming hours and accuse him of aggravated murder, a crime that can be punished with life imprisonment or the death penalty. Kirk was killed last September 10th while debating with UVU students at a large event held outside the campus.
