Santiago Rodríguez.- Colonel Lucilo Francisco Vargas, commander of the Sabaneta police station, died on the afternoon of this Tuesday due to the severe burns suffered during the fire that occurred on the early morning of Monday in the fuel depot of the police station.
Vargas had been seriously injured while trying to respond to the emergency that broke out inside the barracks. Despite medical efforts, the high-ranking officer failed to recover from the injuries caused by the flames.
