Army detains group of undocumented immigrants hiding in vacant house in Mao

Valverde, R.D.- Following up on immigration interdiction operations, the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) detained 15 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory status, who were hiding in an unoccupied house in the Pueblo Nuevo sector of the municipality of Mao, Valverde province.

The group of undocumented foreigners, discovered during patrol work carried out in that demarcation, was made up of 05 men, 08 women and 02 minors. The undocumented immigrants were transferred to the 4th Infantry Brigade, to later be handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for the repatriation process. The ERD will continue to strengthen border security and public order, in support of the competent authorities and in compliance with the Law.
