Santo Domingo.- A total of 133 legal professionals began their initial training program with a master's degree in Criminal Sciences, as part of the Public Opposition Contest for Aspirants to Prosecutor of the Public Ministry, organized by the Instituto de Educación Superior Escuela Nacional del Ministerio Público (IES-ENMP).
The Attorney General of the Republic, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, welcomed the selected individuals, highlighting that “being a prosecutor is not a mere profession; it is a public ministry, a service dedicated to justice and the common good”. Reynoso emphasized that the decisions of the applicants will have a direct impact on people's lives and underscored the importance of acting with objectivity, transparency, and efficiency.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by the rector of IES-ENMP, Marien Montero Beard, and members of the Academic Council and the Superior Council of the Public Ministry. Montero Beard noted that the 133 applicants (85 women and 48 men) were selected from among 1,149 applicants, and highlighted that the program has been updated to meet the standards of excellence required by the modern prosecutor's career. Prosecutor Reynoso recalled that being a prosecutor implies "living on the edge of the challenging and at the center of the just," and highlighted that objectivity in the work will guarantee fair processes and strengthen the citizens' trust in the justice system.
