A magnitude 4.1 earthquake is recorded in the north of the country.

Santo Domingo.- An earthquake of an approximate magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on the night of this Tuesday about 7 kilometers from the municipality of Río Grande, shaking a large part of the north of the Dominican Republic.

According to preliminary reports, the epicenter of the tremor was located between the provinces of Santiago and Puerto Plata, being perceptible in locations such as Sosúa, Santa Cruz de Mao and La Vega. Users on social media reported having felt the seismic movement with moderate intensity in Santiago de los Caballeros, where momentary concern was generated among residents.
