Man takes the life of ex-wife and commits suicide in Haina; Police investigate the incident

San Cristobal.- A man took the life of his ex-wife and then committed suicide in the Quita Sueño sector of Haina, allegedly motivated by disputes related to properties.

The deceased are Teodoro Ventura Labegar, 58 years old, and his ex-wife Yudy Claribel Carela Cueva, 47, whose deaths are being investigated by the National Police in order to clarify what happened.

The first finding occurred around 9:47 p.m. this Friday, when members of the Investigation Division (Dicrim) of the National Police in Haina, along with representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office and a forensic doctor, went to a house located on Mella Street in the El Centro sector of Haina, after receiving the report of a deceased person.

The lifeless body of Ventura Labegar was found at the scene, who, according to a brother of the victim, was hanging from the roof's ridge. He explained that Teodoro was going through family conflicts due to the intention to sell a property inherited in common with his siblings.

Later, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the lifeless body of Carela Cueva was found in vacant lots in the Quita Sueño sector, Haina, presenting mechanical asphyxiation by strangulation.

The preliminary report indicates that the woman had left in the morning of the same day with her ex-husband, with the supposed intention of carrying out a land sale transaction. From that moment on, her family members did not hear from her again, until her lifeless discovery.

Both bodies were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) for autopsy purposes.
