Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, highlighted this Monday a reduction in reports of robberies in the Dominican Republic, during the meeting to monitor citizen security, as a result of the strengthening of police operations and preventive actions implemented by the Government.
Raful reported that in December, 1,410 complaints were registered, while in November the figure rose to 6,245, which represents a considerable decrease in reports of this type of crime. You may be interested in: http://Faride Raful highlights a 40% increase in 911 interoperability and ratifies the “Christmas Guarantee of Peace” operation
The official attributed these results to the reinforcement of the operational effectiveness of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim), as well as the strengthening of key areas such as Criminalistics and Forensic Ballistics, which has allowed for substantial improvements in criminal investigation. Likewise, he reiterated the call to citizens to use the digital complaint platform, which facilitates the registration of events, improves the traceability of cases, and contributes to a more agile response from the authorities. Although he highlighted the progress, Raful pointed out that the monitoring is maintained permanently, underlining that crime prevention continues to be a priority within the citizen security strategy. Finally, he assured that these actions are part of an integral plan that seeks to strengthen citizen confidence, reduce crime levels, and guarantee greater security throughout the national territory.
