Senate and Chamber of Deputies ratify Ricardo de los Santos and Alfredo Pacheco in presidencies

Santo Domingo. – Senator Ricardo de los Santos was ratified as president of the Senate of the Republic, while Representative Alfredo Pacheco will continue to head the Chamber of Deputies. Both legislative leaders have been valued for their agile, institutional leadership and their vision for the country. The re-election of both legislative presidents reaffirms the commitment to strengthen the work of the National Congress from a fluid and respectful relationship between both chambers, which has allowed efficient progress on the country's legislative agenda.

Ricardo de los Santos, who assumed the presidency of the Senate in replacement of Eduardo Estrella, has been recognized for his conciliatory style, close to the senators and with a clear disposition to dialogue with the Lower House. His approach has contributed to greater inter-institutional coordination and the promotion of key reforms for national development. For his part, Alfredo Pacheco has maintained his leadership at the head of the deputies, betting on a Chamber closer to the citizenry, open to the different social sectors and committed to modern legislation. The continuity of both at the head of their respective chambers augurs a new period of political stability, democratic strengthening, and legislative advances in favor of the interests of the Dominican people.
