Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares, informed that in a recent operation by the Inspection Directorate of the institution, in 13 companies on Duarte Avenue in the National District, violations were found that put the health and safety of their workers at risk.
Olivares showed the warning records, along with the inspection images, in which 207 violations of the Labor Code and 123 of Regulation 522-06 on Occupational Health and Safety are recorded. Companies in flagrant violation of the law are World House, Plaza Rudo, Motor Yxmr. SRL, Yind Fend SRL, Casa Liz, Ferretería tu Casa, Sandy import, Comercial Yisco, Comercial Chagon, Supermercado Buen Precio, Gts Global, Rudo Motors and Dola City. "All these violations are contrary to the obligation of employers to guarantee an adequate and safe working environment as established by our Constitution in its article 62.8; article 436 of the Labor Code, article 13 of Convention 81 of the International Labour Organization (ILO)", and article 13 of regulation 522-06", added the minister.You may be interested in: Ministry of Labor and banking sector agree to promote labor inclusion of vulnerable people
The Minister added that these companies will have to comply with the safety and health of workers, with the payment of minimum wage, weekly rest, vacations and their enjoyment, without abusing excessive working hours. Likewise, Minister Olivares warned that, in the Dominican Republic, violations against workers will not be tolerated under any circumstances, so inspections will continue in different companies, regardless of whether their directors are Dominican or foreign.
