U.S. President Donald Trump revealed this Friday that he will meet with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on August 15 in Alaska.
"The long-awaited meeting [...] will take place next Friday, August 15, 2025, in the great state of Alaska," wrote the U.S. president on his
Truth Social account. "More details will be offered soon," he added.

In a previous statement, Trump
stated: "We have been working on this for a long time. It's very complicated". "We are going to meet with Russia. I think it will be a very popular event", he expressed.
Meeting between Putin and Trump
The Kremlin and the White House have reached an agreement to organize a
meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, and have already begun the corresponding preparations. The meeting was agreed upon during the
visit to Moscow by the US special envoy, Steve Witkoff, who met this Wednesday with the Russian leader.
Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov,
communicated this Thursday that the meeting is scheduled for next week, although an exact date has not yet been set. He added that the location of the talks is practically defined
and
the Kremlin will announce it later. In addition, the Russian leader
indicated that Moscow has
"many friends willing to help" in organizing the meeting.
