SANTO DOMINGO. – The players Miguel Ángel Sanó, from the Estrellas Orientales, and Aaron Sánchez, from the Toros del Este, were chosen as the most outstanding of the first installment of the MVP of the Week Award of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), corresponding to the period from October 15 to 20, 2025.

The award, presented by Ron Ozama, recognizes weekly the most outstanding players of the autumn-winter tournament, with the participation of sports communicators who cover the incidents of the league throughout the country. In the position player voting, Sanó topped the scrutiny with 63 votes (47%) out of a total of 134 voters, prevailing over Aderlin Rodríguez, from the Águilas Cibaeñas (32 votes, 23.9%), and the rookie Felnin Celestén, from the Toros del Este (20 votes, 14%). Josh Lester (Estrellas), Bryant Torres and Mikey Gasper (Toros) also received support. During the evaluated week, Sanó participated in five games, connecting six hits in 19 at-bats, including two home runs and eight RBIs, for a batting average of .316, OBP .409, slugging .684 and an OPS of 1.093. The Stars recorded a record of 4-1 in that period. In the category of pitchers, Aaron Sánchez was chosen decisively with 75 votes (56.8%) out of 132 possible, surpassing the starting pitcher Grant Gavin, from the Leones del Escogido (42 votes, 31.8%). Sánchez shined in his only start of the week, throwing five complete innings of a single hit, with seven strikeouts and no walks, maintaining his perfect effectiveness at 0.00 ERA. They completed the voting Enny Romero (Estrellas Orientales) and Charlie Barnes (Águilas Cibaeñas), both with four votes (3%), while Esmil Rogers (Estrellas), César Valdez (Licey) and Jake Faria (Gigantes del Cibao) were also considered.
