INEFI delivers modern covered sports complex in Yamasá

The work is added to the projects delivered in Capotillo, Elías Piña, Santiago de los Caballeros and San Pedro de Macorís during the last two years.

Monte Plata.- The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) inaugurated this Tuesday a modern covered sports complex at the General Eusebio Manzueta Polytechnic, fulfilling its commitment to bring decent and safe facilities to the country's educational centers.

"**This is not just a sports center. It is a community life center that symbolizes dignity, hope, and opportunities for our youth**," said the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, during the opening ceremony. "With the inauguration of this sports complex, they are creating the conditions for us to have a better learning experience. This work, which will be of great value to our municipal district and to the young people who are celebrating this roof today, is a reason for great joy. We want to thank President Abinader and Alberto Rodríguez," expressed Juan de León Custodio, director of the Los Botados municipal district.

The construction of this sports center was requested by the community residents in August of last year, during a visit by President Luis Abinader. "This is a dream come true, and we are inaugurating it today with so much joy to promote the healthy coexistence that is so lacking in our society," said Francisco Aponte, director of the school. In the same terms, the governor of Monte Plata, Rafaela Javier Gomera, expressed herself, who considered the benefits that the work will bring, not only for the students of the General Eusebio Manzueta Educational Center, but also for the entire community.

Installation Features

The sports center has a structure with a galvanized steel metal roof of the fence type, with columns anchored to concrete bases and a minimum free height of seven meters for all disciplines. While the cover is made of anti-corrosion aluzinc sheets, with a fastening system that dampens wind vibrations. It also has a mixed court with a non-slip acrylic surface marked for basketball and volleyball, equipped with professional backboards and removable posts. It also has industrial LED lighting and a drainage system with gutters and downspouts to ensure continuous use, even in the rainy season. It also has a safe perimeter area and wide accesses that facilitate the circulation of students, teachers, visitors and people with reduced mobility.
