Summary Day 7 – Junior Pan American Games 2025

SANTO DOMINGO. Dominican delegation closed the seventh day of the 2025 Junior Pan American Games with outstanding performances in diving, 3x3 basketball, table tennis and taekwondo, achieving important classifications and raising the national flag.

Diving

Young diver Victoria Garza secured her spot in the final of the women's 10-meter platform event, finishing fourth with a score of 287.70.
Garza will compete for the medal this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. RD time) at the Olympic Aquatic Centre.

In the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard, Garza, paired with Piera Rufino Rivera, finished in fifth position with a score of 197.16 points.

Men's 3x3 Basketball

The Dominican Republic 3x3 basketball team advanced to the semifinals after defeating Paraguay with a score of 16-14, at the 3x3 Sports Center. Ángel Puello was the offensive figure with seven points, followed by Juan de los Santos (4), Dolfy Arias (3) and Rey Abad (2). The Dominicans shot for a 43% field (12 of 28), while Paraguay stayed at a 27% (9 of 33). The national team will face Chile this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. RD time) for a place in the final.

Taekwondo

The athlete Pablo Feliz Herrera concluded his participation after falling in the bronze medal match against the Mexican Víctor Ramírez by 1-0 (7-20, 2-9, 2-3). In his first fight, in the round of 16, he had been defeated by the Colombian César Silva (0-2).

Table Tennis

Great day for the Dominican youth in the doubles modality:
  • Mixed Doubles: Ramón Vila and Arianna Estrella won their two matches, including a 3-1 victory over Paraguay. In the quarterfinals, they will face the Brazilians Felipe Doti and Karina Senaga.
  • Women's Doubles: Dafne Sosa and Arianna Estrella defeated Peru 3-2 and will face the Brazilians Karina Senaga and Beatriz Mendonga in the quarterfinals.
  • Men's Doubles: Ramón Vila and Rafael Cabrera advanced with a 3-0 victory over El Salvador, and in the quarterfinals, they will face the Brazilians Felipe Doti and Leonardo Ilzuka.
In other results, Cabrera and Sosa were eliminated in the second round of mixed doubles after losing to Venezuela. In women's singles, Arianna Estrella lost 2-4.
With these performances, the Dominican Republic continues to increase its presence in decisive instances of the II Junior Pan American Games of Asunción 2025, with open options in several disciplines for this Sunday.
