Army detains alleged Haitian official transporting undocumented foreigners in Valverde

Valverde. - Members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), belonging to the 4th Infantry Brigade, stopped a vehicle at a Mobile Checkpoint located near the General Benito Monción Fortress, during interdiction operations in the area.

This is Haitian citizen Denis Mervil, who was carrying an ID card identifying him as the Vice-Consul of Haiti, documentation that does not enable or authorize him to travel within the national territory, in accordance with current protocols.

At the time of the arrest, he was driving a Kia car, model K5, gray color, license plate AA42070, in which he was transporting two (2) Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition, both male.

The vehicle, the aforementioned driver, and the foreigners with irregular migratory status were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD for the corresponding legal processes.
