Azua. – Lawyer María del Carmen Santana, a bioanalyst at the Taiwan Regional Hospital, died this Monday morning while fulfilling her work duties at the aforementioned health center.
According to Dr. Rafael Méndez, the health professional began to feel dizzy while performing her duties in the bioanalysis area.
Faced with the discomfort, he went to the hospital's emergency room, where he received medical attention. However, approximately 30 minutes later he suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest that caused his death.
According to initial medical observations, it is presumed that the death may have been caused by a sudden heart attack, although the corresponding procedures are expected to determine the causes of death more precisely.

Ms. Santana resided in the Quisqueya sector, in the province of Azua, and had more than 20 years of service at the Taiwan Regional Hospital, where she was appreciated for her dedication, responsibility, and vocation in the exercise of her profession. Her passing has caused deep sorrow among colleagues, family, and community members, who remember her as a caring person committed to patient care.
