São Paulo.- The defense of former President Jair Bolsonaro requested authorization from the Supreme Court for the ex-president to receive the attention of a physiotherapist in the cell of the Federal Police Superintendence where he is serving his sentence.
In a request addressed to Judge Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the process, the defense argued that Bolsonaro's personal physician recommended the performance of respiratory and motor physiotherapy sessions, as an "essential measure" to maintain the physical condition and postural readjustment of the former president, as well as "the prophylaxis of clinical complications, given the clinical and functional picture presented".
In that sense, it was requested that the sessions be daily, exclusively on weekdays and within the standard operating hours of the Police headquarters in Brasilia.
The new request adds to other recent requests related to the health of the former president, sentenced in September to 27 years and three months in prison for coup, who has been suffering for months from hiccups, vomiting and dizziness, disorders that he attributes to the stabbing he received in the 2018 election campaign.
