Jarabacoa, La Vega. – A tragic act of violence was recorded in the Pedregal sector of this municipality, where Ernesto Rafael Martínez, approximately 44 years old, lost his life after receiving multiple gunshot wounds.
According to preliminary information, the alleged perpetrator of the act was identified as José Manuel Rosado Espinosa, alias “Chepe”, a well-known boxer who has represented Jarabacoa in national and international competitions.
According to data collected on the scene by En Noticias con Salvador J., the incident occurred after Rosado Espinosa returned from a fight allegedly held in Santo Domingo, which he had lost. Witnesses indicated that, in the midst of an apparent fit of rage, the athlete reacted violently against Martinez, allegedly because the latter was making fun of him and provoking him in the place where they were, a situation that would have triggered the fatal outcome.
Members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM) arrived at the scene, under the coordination of Major Osoria, representatives of the Public Ministry, a forensic doctor, agents of the National Police, units of the Jarabacoa and Buenavista Fire Department, as well as personnel from the National Emergency System 9-1-1 and the Municipal Police, who carried out the body's removal and initiated the corresponding investigations.
Authorities continue to deepen investigations to fully clarify this regrettable event that has shocked the community of Jarabacoa.
