Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology reported that during the afternoon and evening of this Sunday, weak and isolated rains have been recorded in several provinces of the interior of the country, as a result of the interaction of the northeast wind with the orography of the national territory.
While the southeast and southwest of the country remain with skies of isolated to scattered clouds, cloud increases have been observed in mountainous areas of Puerto Plata, Monte Cristi, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monseñor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez and San Juan, where rainfall occurred between weak and locally moderate.
For this Monday, meteorologists indicated that no significant rainfall is expected, due to a greater reduction in the moisture content in the atmosphere.
Only weak, isolated, and short-lived rains could occur in the morning hours towards the coasts of Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez and Espaillat, as well as some passing showers in the afternoon in mountainous areas.
In the rest of the country, stable conditions will prevail, favorable for carrying out outdoor activities.
Regarding temperatures, they will remain cool and pleasant, becoming colder during the night and early morning in mountainous areas and inland valleys.
Also, the occurrence of dense fogs and mists is not ruled out, associated with the time of year and the cool wind from the northeast.
Authorities recommend that the population drive with caution in areas where fog is present.
