First image of the Necromancer in Mortal Kombat 2 (2026)

The production of Mortal Kombat 2 has revealed the first official image of the Necromancer, Quan Chi, confirming his presence in the upcoming film. This iconic villain from the Netherrealm appears darker and more twisted than ever, showcasing his ability to raise armies of corpses and manipulate the souls of warriors. The film will continue to explore the Outworld universe, bringing back classic villains like Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Sindel, while expanding the story with the participation of Quan Chi, played by Damon Herriman.
  • Mortal Kombat 2 is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2026*, under the direction of Simon McQuoid. The production features New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster and Broken Road.
The cast includes Karl Urban as Johnny Cage; Adeline Rudolph; Jessica McNamee; Josh Lawson; Ludi Lin; Mehcad Brooks; Tati Gabrielle; Lewis Tan; and Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, as well as the return of Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
