In an Army operation, three vehicles were seized with 36 undocumented Haitians in Valverde.

Valverde. – During an interdiction operation by the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), three vehicles were intercepted on the Samba highway section, Santiago Rodríguez province, in which thirty-six (36) Haitian nationals with irregular migratory status were being transported. ERD members detected an illegal transportation operation of undocumented foreigners. During the intervention, three vehicles were intercepted. In the first vehicle, a Toyota Camry, green in color, license plate A199468, whose driver fled upon noticing the military presence, leaving the vehicle abandoned with 18 Haitian nationals, including 12 men and 6 women.

In a second car, also a Toyota Camry, gold in color, license plate A033575, driven by Gustavo Adolfo Lusiano Sánchez, 18 Haitian nationals were being transported, including 17 men and one minor. While the third vehicle, Kia K5 brand, white color, license plate AA56552, driven by Jhon Danys Ureña, according to reports, acted as a spotter for the previous vehicles and is a repeat offender in this type of illicit activity. Both the vehicles, as well as the detained foreigners and the Dominican citizens involved, were transferred to the ERD Detachment in Santiago Rodríguez for the corresponding legal purposes.
