Indomet forecasts sunny weather and scarce rainfall for this Thursday

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that this Thursday, mists and fogs will prevail in the morning hours, a mostly sunny environment, scarce rains and pleasant temperatures in a large part of the national territory, favorable conditions for outdoor activities. According to the report, episodes of fog or mist will be recorded in the morning in provinces such as San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel and Santiago. In general terms, a mass of air with low humidity will keep the sky sunny to partly cloudy, with limited rainfall.

However, Indomet forecasts isolated showers in the afternoon over locations near the Central Mountain Range, including Monseñor Nouel and La Vega, due to wind drag. The temperatures will continue to be cool and pleasant, with a greater feeling of cold in mountainous areas and inland valleys, where denser fogs, typical of the winter season and the moderate northeast wind, could also occur. The minimums will range between 19 °C and 21 °C, while the maximums will be between 28 °C and 30 °C.

Maritime Recommendations

On the Atlantic coast, Indomet recommends that operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels remain in port due to strong winds and abnormal waves. Meanwhile, on the Caribbean coast, it is advised to navigate with caution near the coast, without venturing out to sea.

Outlook for this Friday

Similar conditions will persist for tomorrow, Friday, with a mainly sunny environment, isolated cloudiness, and scarce rainfall, influenced by a high-pressure system (anticyclonic circulation). Even so, cloud cover increases with isolated showers could be recorded in northern and northeastern provinces such as Puerto Plata, Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, and Samaná.
