Man carrying undocumented foreigner hidden in the trunk of a vehicle arrested

San Juan de la Maguana. – A driver was arrested by members of the Dominican Republic Army when he was caught transporting a Haitian national hidden in a vehicle in the Municipal District of Guanito, province of San Juan de la Maguana. A patrol from the 12th Mountain Infantry Battalion, ERD, intercepted Liony Francis Alcántara, who was carrying the undocumented Haitian immigrant, hidden in the trunk of a gray Hyundai Sonata car, license plate A715730. The detainee was transferred under custody along with the foreigner and the vehicle to the Fortaleza General José María Cabral of the ERD, for the corresponding legal processes.

Police arrests "El Pollo", implicated in home robbery in Santiago

The National Police arrested José Joaquín García, alias “El Pollo,” 34 years old, identified as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery that occurred on March 18 in a home in the Cristo Rey sector in the south of Santiago. The arrest was carried out by members of the Property Crimes Investigation Division, based at the Mari López sector detachment, in compliance with court order No. 2025-AJ0017556. According to the complaint filed by the victim, the accused allegedly used a wooden object to steal, through a window, a package containing a computer, two cell phones (iPhone and Samsung), an identity card, a medical insurance card, and a bank card.

Following investigation and analysis of evidence, the authorities identified Garcia as the alleged perpetrator of the act, and he was therefore placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
