Santo Domingo. - Vehicle circulation remains reduced this Wednesday in Santo Domingo Este, due to the constant rains caused by tropical storm Melissa, which continues to affect a large part of the national territory.
A minimal flow of vehicles is reported since the early hours of the morning, mainly on Coronel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez Avenue towards the Las Américas highway and San Vicente de Paúl Avenue, where intermittent rains and strong winds have caused water accumulation in several sections.
According to the most recent report from the National Hurricane Center (NHC), issued on the night of October 22, 2025, Melissa was located over the waters of the eastern Caribbean Sea, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour, moving west-northwest at about 15 kilometers per hour.
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains a red alert for several provinces on the south and east coast, including Santo Domingo, due to the intense rains that could generate urban floods and rising rivers and streams.
