Steve Witkoff meets with Vladimir Putin in Moscow seeking progress to stop the war in Ukraine

Moscow, Russia — The United States Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, held a meeting with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in the city of Moscow with the aim of promoting diplomatic progress to end the war in Ukraine.

The meeting takes place within the framework of a series of diplomatic efforts aimed at generating significant progress towards a possible peace agreement after almost four years of conflict. During the talks, Witkoff, accompanied by other US advisors, raised with the Russian authorities the need to continue bringing positions closer in order to achieve a ceasefire and a negotiated resolution. According to reports, the parties addressed various key aspects related to the end of hostilities, including territorial issues that remain one of the main points of friction between Russia and Ukraine. This meeting takes place in a context of persistent tensions, in which the international community seeks to consolidate negotiation channels to mitigate the humanitarian and geopolitical impact of the conflict in Eastern Europe.
